Jeana James was
born and raised in the small rural town of Mona, Utah. She and truly her better
half, Keith, were married in the Manti, Utah temple in 1987. The James family
spent 23 years in Gunnison Valley in central Utah, then their family moved to
beautiful southern Utah. Keith and Jeana are the parents of five great kids –
Tyler, Jaden, Keena, Josh & Jenya.
Jeana is a
member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She cherishes her
church membership and is incredibly grateful for her testimony and the peace
and joy it brings to her life. She has worked in many capacities of the church,
loving and learning with every opportunity, but would probably have to say
serving with the youth is her favorite.
Jeana has
always worked with kids. She was a dance
instructor for 29 years having the opportunity to teach thousands of dancers,
all types of dance.
Jeana has a Masters
of Education degree from Utah State University. She currently works as an
elementary school counselor for Washington County School District. Jeana writes
character education lessons for students, faculty and parents; her lessons are
used in many schools, elementary to high school level. Jeana was recently awarded the 2015 Elementary School Counselor of the Year for the state of Utah. She truly loves her job because
of the opportunity it gives her to improve lives, especially her own, everyday.
Jeana enjoys
spending time with her family, writing, quilting, hiking, plus lots more. She
is in the process of publishing her first book, Symbols of the Nativity, due to be released October 2015.
