Jeana James was born and raised in the small rural town of Mona, Utah. She graduated from Juab High School, Snow College, and Utah State University. She and truly her better half, Keith, were married in the Manti, Utah temple in 1987. The James family spent 23 years in Gunnison Valley in central Utah. In 2010 their family moved to beautiful southern Utah. Keith and Jeana are the parents of five great kids – Tyler, Jaden, Keena, Josh & Jenya.
Jeana is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She cherishes her church membership and is incredibly grateful for her testimony and the peace and joy it brings to her life. She has worked in many capacities of the church, loving and learning with every opportunity, but would probably have to say serving with the youth is her favorite.
Jeana has always worked with kids. She was a dance instructor for 29 years having the opportunity to teach thousands of dancers, all types of dance.
Jeana has a Masters of Education degree from Utah State University. She currently works as an elementary school counselor for Washington County School District. Jeana has written over 50 character education lessons for students, faculty and parents; her lessons are used in many schools, elementary to high school level. Jeana was recently awarded the 2015 Utah State Counseling Association Elementary School Counselor of the Year. She truly loves her job because of the opportunity it gives her to improve lives, especially her own, everyday.
Jeana enjoys spending time with her family, writing, quilting, hiking, plus lots more. She is in the process of publishing her first book, Symbols of the Nativity, due to be released October 13, 2015.
